A.M. Nashville is a fitness studio that promotes wellness through body awareness and physical training. Our classes are grounded in fundamental dance techniques that focus on choice, grace and strength while emphasizing awareness of the body's wisdom.
I was lucky enough to begin my teaching odyssey when I was thirteen. In the almost three decades since then, I have been a professional dancer, choreographer and dance educator working with movers of all ages and abilities locally, nationally and abroad.
This studio is the culmination of years of technical studies, personal healing and learning from my students. From these avenues of exploration and engagement I've found that when the architecture of the body aligns with our awareness magic happens! Not only can you stay physically well from informed moving, but you can tune into your body's wisdom. My students and I have found this way of relating to our bodies to be a fun loving adventure that helps us navigate our inner and outer lives.
I hope you'll join us at A.M. to begin or enhance your movement journey.
IS IT A DANCE CLASS?
While most of our classes are rooted in the technical aspect of some dance forms, they are not traditional dance classes. Our focus is on movement, not performance. You will work both on and off of a yoga mat.
Will I GET A GOOD WORKOUT?
YES! We draw on some pretty athletic (but accessible) techniques and look forward to gently putting you through the paces. The technique is presented through a steady organic process, not a fast-paced "do all the things" class that can be overwhelming or present opportunities for injury. We run our classes as series instead of drop-in classes so you can carefully build up your stamina and mobility.
WHAT IF I HAVEN'T MOved in awhile?
No worries! This technique is designed to meet you where you are today.
